Arabic SEO is not English SEO with right-aligned copy. A GCC site has to serve a different script, query behaviour, and decision path without making either language version a weaker duplicate.
The useful question is not whether an Arabic page exists. It is whether an Arabic-speaking buyer can find the right page, read a natural answer, take the next action, and be measured through to a qualified outcome. Why Arabic SEO needs its own operating model
Arabic interfaces run right to left, but the work is more than direction. Searchers often omit diacritics; Google must match variants that people write without them. A term can be searched in Modern Standard Arabic (MSA), a Gulf dialect, Arabic mixed with English, or transliterated Latin characters. The company name, product, location, and price may all appear in a different convention on the same results page.
Arabic-Indic numerals add another practical choice. A Saudi or UAE reader may encounter ٢٠٢٦, 2026, or both; prices, phone numbers, dates, and model names must remain readable and consistent. Do not duplicate a page simply to swap numeral forms. Use the form that makes the page clear to its intended reader, then test the queries and conversion path that matter.
Language pairing has a technical consequence too. An English URL and its Arabic equivalent need reciprocal hreflang annotations for en and ar, with the English URL as x-default. A translated-looking page that points at an unrelated Arabic URL is not a language strategy; it is a routing error.
AI Overviews and other answer engines raise the standard. Arabic source material needs named entities, direct explanations, visible evidence, and an unambiguous relationship to its English counterpart. The aim is not to stuff an Arabic keyword into a page for an AI system. It is to publish source material an answer engine can identify, quote, and send a reader back to.

- Give each language its own useful URL. Use a stable Arabic route for Arabic content and an English route for English content. Do not use a language switcher that only changes interface labels while leaving the same body copy in place.

- Handle numbers as content, not decoration. Decide where Arabic-Indic numerals improve comprehension and where international digits are expected, such as product codes or telephone fields. Check that analytics, structured data, and form validation preserve the value correctly.
Content and query choices
- Map MSA and dialect intent separately. MSA usually suits explanatory, national, and formal searches. Dialect terms may suit local services and conversational questions. Do not assume a literal English translation captures either; collect terms from Search Console, sales calls, onsite search, and real customer messages.
- Write an Arabic-first brief. Define the reader, job, query family, proof, next action, and internal link before drafting. The Arabic page should answer the market’s question in its own language, not preserve the English sentence order.
- Keep entity details consistent. Names, locations, service labels, authorship, and evidence should agree across Arabic and English pages. Where a product is commonly known by an English name, explain it naturally rather than forcing a made-up Arabic equivalent.
- Use headings that carry the answer. A reader and an AI system should be able to see what each section resolves. Add concise definitions, process steps, limits, and evidence; remove generic claims that cannot be checked.
